  1. Any order from a customer for stationery from The Harrogate Paperie Co. or Luxury Wedding Stationery Boutique (referred to as THCP) is deemed to constitute acceptance of the following terms and conditions.

  2. Prices are determined by reference to THPC's price list current at the date of acceptance of the order by THPC.

  3. Every effort is made to display the prices accurately. However, on rare occasions, mistakes happen. In this instance THPC will correct the mistake and inform the Customer so that they can decide whether to continue with the order at the correct price.

  4. THPC acknowledge orders on the understanding that delivery is subject to availability. Should an item not be available, the customer will be informed and an alternative offered.

  5. Where stationery is handmade, there may be slight variations in each item. All materials are subject to availability; however any changes to the proposed materials will be discussed with you before your invitations are produced. Furthermore, THPC cannot guarantee continuity of colour/materials especially if separate orders are placed for the same stationery design. If the product specifications from our suppliers change THPC will endeavour to offer an alternative of the same or better quality at the same price as your initial order.

  6. Any online stationery orders cancelled prior to receipt of approved proofs will incur a charge equal to 50% of the order total. Any orders cancelled after receipt of approved proofs will be charged at the full value of the order.

  7. Any dates quoted for delivery of orders are approximate only and THPC shall not be liable for any delay in delivery of the orders however caused. Time for delivery shall not be of the essence unless previously agreed by THPC in writing.

  8. If THPC fails to deliver the order for any reasons other than any cause beyond THPC's reasonable control or the Customer's fault and THPC is liable to the Customer, THPC's liability shall be limited to the invoice price of the goods.

  9. The Customer shall upon delivery, examine the goods and shall promptly (but in any event within 30 days of delivery) notify THPC of any apparent damage, defect or shortage. In default of such written notification, THPC shall be deemed conclusively to have properly performed its obligations in relation to the purchase and sale of the goods. All illustrations, designs and general descriptions contained on the THPC website or otherwise provided to the customer are intended for general guidance only and shall not be binding on THPC and are only approximate indications of the type, size or colour of goods and are intended to represent a general idea of the goods described therein and the sales of such goods shall not be reference thereto. The customer shall take the goods at his own risk as to their corresponding with such examples or as to their quality, condition or sufficiency for any purpose.

  10. In the event of a claim, settlement will be limited to the value of the goods defectively produced and will in no way extend to consequential loss, howsoever caused.

  11. Risk of damage to or loss of the goods shall pass to the customer at the time of delivery or, if the customer wrongfully fails to take delivery of the goods at the time when THPC had tendered delivery of the goods.

  12. THPC shall not be liable to the customer or be deemed in breach of the agreement by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform any of THPC's obligations in relation to the goods, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond THPC's reasonable control. Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing the following shall be regarded as causes beyond THPC's reasonable control:

    • Act of God, explosion, flood tempest, fire or accident

Order Process

Invitation designs: Invitation designs are as seen online, and are produced using materials as described with the product description. If you require an amended version of any of our boutique designs please contact THPC directly to discuss your requirements and proceed as per below. THPC may occasionally experience difficulties purchasing materials. In the unlikely event that we may need to change our suppliers or source alternative materials we will discuss this with you prior to production of your order.

Wording: Text can be typed directly into the text box when placing your order online. If you prefer to be contacted at a later date by THPC please check the 'Decide later' box. Text for invitations should be typed clearly in a Microsoft Word document or email and emailed to cher@theharrogatepaperie.co.uk.  Please type in upper and lower case as required, regardless of your chosen typeface. Guest lists should be provided as a list in a Word document. Text not provided in the format referred to above may incur an administrative fee and will delay your order. THPC is not responsible for typing, spelling or other errors in the text you have supplied.

Proof Stage: Proofs of all items containing text will be submitted to you via e-mail before stationery goes into production. It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of these proofs before confirming your acceptance. When proofs have been submitted to you by e-mail you may confirm that proofs are correct and ready to print via email. This will be taken as your agreement that the proofs are correct, and any changes to the design after this stage may incur additional costs.

We will provide you with up to 3 sets of proofs (an initial set of proofs followed by 2 rounds of changes) for your approval before printing. Additional changes/proofs are charged at £15 each. Proofs will be emailed to you as a black and white pdf file. At our discretion we may be able to provide you with colour proofs. However these will not be an exact match to your finished stationery due to the different printing methods involved. You must print this file, check it and ensure that you print your proof at the correct size. You should list any changes, in order, clearly, in a Microsoft Word document or email and email them to us (please refer to the proof we should make changes to by its file name). When you are satisfied with your proof(s) you should email us your approval, listing the file names of the proof(s) you approve, in order for printing to commence. Once your emailed approval to print has been received we will send your order to print. If you make any changes to your proofs after your approval to print has been received you will be charged for these on the basis of time spent plus any costs incurred by THPC. THPC cannot be responsible for any errors in your stationery not spotted by you at the proofing stage.

THPC shall contact you once your order has been approved, with an approximate date for dispatch. The current turnaround period is 2 weeks, however you shall be notified if your order requires more time. THPC is not liable for orders arriving late due to the consumer not supplying or approving the required information within 7 days of placing their order.

Cancellations and Refunds

Because all orders are personalised with your individual details, refunds and exchanges will only be made if the stationery is faulty or does not meet the specifications of your order. Any online stationery orders cancelled prior to receipt of signed proofs will incur a charge equal to 50% of the order total. Any orders cancelled after receipt of approved proofs will be charged at the full value of the order. Any damage caused to your order during shipping shall be claimed by you, the consumer, through the compensation scheme of the shipping provider. This does not affect your statutory rights.
